MIDNIGHT SKY - MILEY CYRUS
Miley Cyrus has consummated her long-awaited return to the market with the track "Midnight Sky", according to her a tribute to all the female icons who have influenced her as an artist (Debbie Harris, Stevie Nicks and Joan Jett...), as shown in the video she directed.
Composed from a "melting pot of Cyrus' experiences over the past year," according to the press release, this is the first unreleased material she has released since undergoing vocal cord surgery last November, which forced her to postpone all recording.
In an interview for Variety magazine published in June, the American artist revealed that she had spent the last six months "sober" following vocal surgery, necessary because of the wear and tear caused by the excessive use of her throat when speaking and singing.
Produced by Andrew Watt and Louis Bell, "Midnight Sky" takes over from her last new release, "Slide Away," the ballad she released in isolation in August 2019 after announcing her split from actor Liam Hemsworth, to whom she had been linked by a long relationship since her teenage years.
It was anticipated in recent days in networks with the tags "#SHEISCOMING" and "ButForRealThisTime" ("Ella vuelve" and "Pero de verdad esta vez, in Spanish), a direct allusion to his last album, the EP "She is coming" which he released in the spring of last year and that, even getting good reviews for singles like "Mother's Daughter", did not get the expected commercial pull.
